Read Through Some Cold Calling Scripts

+

There is no perfect cold call script which you can adhere to and always guarantee a sale. But to help you, check out this cold calling blog. The fact is that you can only really follow a set of general guidelines when talking to people. Different people have different characters and moods that a cold caller will find that more difficult to read when on the phone. Face to face meetings allow for reading a person’s expressions and body language to get a feel for the situation but with cold calling you are really just going in bind. For this reason, you need to have your own strategy that will help improve your chances.

First, you need to research the organization and the person you plan on talking to. Gathering intelligence goes a long way in learning about the type of person you want to approach and helps to provide commonalities you can use to create a rapport. Although you are not going to use a uniform script, you should remain focused on the task at hand. Know how to quickly steer the conversation firmly in the direction of making a sale but ensure you are both courteous and showing respect for the time the target is taking to talk to you.

Have a list of points that you will need to make through the conversation. This will guide you along and keep the conversation focused and moving along quickly.  While the goal of the call is to make a sale, do not be preoccupied trying to make this point. You need to familiarize the client with the product or service, the benefit it has rendered to his competitors or partners and what it can do for his business. Impart more information and be ready to respond to how the current product or service being used by the business is inferior to yours. If you feel like the client is not convinced, ask for a face to face appointment or another time to call and discuss further.
